One of the best ways to be connected at Candlelight is to volunteer by using your gifts and talents. You’ll meet people and join in the work that God is doing through the church. We have opportunities for everyone! See below for all the ways you can serve with us.

Children's Ministry

During Sunday and Wednesday Services: Children are taught God’s Word from the Bible as well as through stories, games and crafts. Security is in place for all children during Sunday and Wednesday services to ensure that each child is safe and secure from all outside distractions.

Please Note: Membership is required to serve in the Children’s Ministry

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

One week of fun every year in the month of June!

VBS gives children a chance to experience God’s Word in many fun and unforgettable ways! Each year Candlelight is transformed into a magical land where they come to understand God’s love for them through the Word, fun and fellowship, and the care shown to them by volunteers. Entire families were changed as many of them came to saving faith in Jesus.

AWANA is designed to provide physical, social, mental, and spiritual activities for children. It’s a great way to develop new friends and learn how the Bible relates to today’s needs. The goal is to introduce boys and girls to Jesus Christ and reinforce the life principles found in the Bible. Programs begin at age 3 all the way up to high school. AWANA trains adults & high school teens as volunteers to work in all the programs.

Youth & Young Adults

Youth Group (7th thru 12th Grade)

Responding to the spiritual needs of teens is about building trusting relationships. Candlelight Christian Fellowship strives to walk with young people on their journeys from Jr. High School to High School age, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world. Our youth pastors, along with their leadership team, inspire, affirm and equip our youth for discipleship and Christian leadership in their lives and in our communities.

Please Note: Membership is required to serve in the Children’s Ministry

Young Adults Ministry

The Young Adults Group is a fellowship of anyone after graduating high school up to the age of 25. The mission of this group is to study the Word of God in order to equip the members of this group for the work of the ministry, worship Him as a body of believers, and minister to our community through acts of service, and sharing the gospel.

Young Singles Ministry

The Young Singles Group is a fellowship of singles between the ages of 26-40. The new Young Singles Group will focus on the next stage of life after the Young Adults Group. This fellowship is designed to spur one another on to grow in faith and maturity in Christ, find community, and form deep friendships.

Juvenile Justice Outreach

The deteriorating mental and behavioral health of our children is largely caused by a lack of close connections to others, as well as a lack of deep connections to moral and spiritual meaning. We offer to nurture relationships as a core principle for each child’s positive development.

Vision: To be available and accessible to provide encouragement, support, and spiritual guidance to youth, their families, and the communities which serve them through Idaho’s Juvenile Justice System.

Meals of Love

The Meals of Love Ministry blesses the families of our church by providing hot meals during their time of need (hospitalization, illness, surgery, other life difficulties, etc.) You’re not making a meal…You’re making a difference!

Silver Angels for the Elderly

Silver Angels for the Elderly is focused on putting God’s love into action by giving hope, joy, and fellowship to isolated seniors. We hope you too, will want to help show love to our lonely elderly who have given so much to their families, friends and community. Some of the ways we share God’s love is by providing:

  • Monthly birthday parties where we provide personalized gifts, cards, balloons, and music.

  • Creating Reminisce boards that honor the memories of residents’ lives.

  • Host Christmas Card and Christmas Parties: Cards and gifts to residents and caregivers, photos, games and much more at various elder care facilities.

  • Easter Baskets given to isolated seniors distributed by Meals on Wheels. Included in the baskets are personal care items, books, games and food.

  • Short-term goal: to deliver personalized birthday gifts to more facilities.

  • Long-term goal: to open a welcoming Medicaid facility that is so desperately needed in Kootenai County.

Our ability to continue providing lonely and isolated seniors with positive, social interactions and experiences are dependent on our volunteers and community of supporters who graciously donate their time and talents to our cause.

Thank you for your interest and we hope you can help us bring more meaningful connections and smiles to lonely seniors.

Greeting Ministry on Sundays

Greeters are the hearts, eyes, and hands of Candlelight. The purpose of the Greeting Ministry is to extend a personal welcome to as many people as possible who enter the church and answer any questions. A smile can go a long way! Greeters are the first person a member or visitor comes in contact with when attending a worship service at Candlelight. Also, if needed, greeters will assist an unstable walker from the parking lot to the Sanctuary, help others overloaded with packages, and assist anyone in need of a wheelchair.

Hospitality Bar on Sundays

Whether brewing coffee or maintaining small talk or a warm welcome, our volunteers have smiles on their faces and love making our facilities a little more inviting. Our hospitality team set-up, replenish, and serve delicious coffee and donuts.

Usher’s Team on Sundays

The Usher Team is available during our Sunday services to greet and escort our guests and members to open seats. This includes directing those with disabilities. Entering a crowded large space can feel overwhelming. A friendly usher can turn a potentially stressful situation into a positive experience.

If you feel the Lord leading you to this ministry, simply fill out a volunteer form below. We would love to have you on our Usher’s Team!

Men & Women Ministries

Men’s Ministry

The Men’s Ministry provides opportunities for spiritual growth, for recreational activities to promote fellowship with other Christian men and to utilize individual skills to support other men and serve within our church body.

Women’s Ministry

Women’s Ministries seeks to assist the church in equipping women to meet the spiritual, relational, and short-term emergency needs of women and their families who are part of Candlelight Christian Fellowship.

Leaders in the Women’s Ministries team recognize that it is impossible to meet all the needs of women within the body through this ministry alone, but believe that they are an essential part in effectively assisting the church to minister to areas of need that may be unique to women. They have chosen to target the spiritual needs of women because they believe that if this need is met, relational, social, emotional, and physical needs will be met as well.
