Jason Murray

Family Ministry Pastor

The Candlelight Family Ministry is committed to building, supporting, and equipping families to know and Love Jesus more during the times we live today.

Our goal as a church is to walk with parents through every step of life with their children, in order to see their children believe in Christ, grow in their relationship with the Lord, begin to disciple others and become godly men and women that God plans for them to be.

Jeff’s Bio: Dr. Jason Murray came to Candlelight with his family from Kentucky, where he had finished a doctor of education in theology and apologetics. Back in 1999 he met his wife Karen, who is from Creston, BC up above Sandpoint. After marrying her, he drug her around the South for 20 plus years, with a family that’s now grown to four teenagers, before being led by God to North Idaho last August. Now that they are here, the Murrays enjoy hiking, sightseeing, camping, guns, a good story, homeschooling, and fellowship with born-again believers. Jason loves driving motor coaches and buses like some guys like riding motorcycles. Their four amazing teenage children are Iain, Onora, Niall and Mairi. Jason’s spiritual gifts include pastoring, teaching, and wisdom, and his life’s calling is to help families defend the Faith through all life’s seasons.

Friday, April 7th, 2023 - 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Every Other Friday

Home Groups are an integral part of what we do here at Candlelight. For growing families, finding time to fellowship can be tough. Between children and work obligations, it’s easy for life to get in the way. Candlelight wants to help!  Our Friday Family Home Group program is intended to create space for young families to find community and connection here at Candlelight. With special curriculum designed for families, a light schedule of just every other Friday, and childcare included, we want to make it easy for families with kids to get plugged in. Each night will feature light snacks and fellowship, followed by small groups for discipleship, discussion, and intimate prayer time.

America’s children are in crisis. It’s no secret that we are now living in a post-Christian society, and without God’s miraculous intervention, this is likely to hold for the foreseeable future. As our culture becomes increasingly hostile to traditional Christian values, what are parents to do? How can we immunize our children against forces hell-bent on their grooming and indoctrination? Christian parents must reclaim lost ground in their children’s spiritual and social formation.

Candlelight’s Redeeming the Time conference is a concise, two-part solution-based presentation that will both shine the light on the precise means of cultural brainwashing occurring and provide practical steps parents can take to shield their children as they come of age in a culture hostile to everything they’ve been taught.

Our keynote speaker Conrad Woodall is a father, educator, former law-enforcement officer, and college professor. He holds a master’s degree in forensic psychology and has spent years working with children and young adults. He will be sharing his expertise regarding sexual grooming in our schools and media, teen suicide, the harmful impact of social media, and the push toward a genderless society. He will also lead an expert panel with Senator Ben Towes, State Representative Elaine Price, legal activist Kate Hartley, and local school board trustees Susan Brown and Leslie Bjerke.
