“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

Jesus Himself was the first missionary! He did not sit by passively and let those who happened to be interested in His teaching come to Him. He went out where the sick, the sorrowing, and the sad were, and expounded His message of joy, healing, and salvation. Even at a tender age, He went to the Temple and “taught” the doctors and lawyers who were entrenched in the old traditions. He found His way to the seaside and intruded upon the life of the commonest of laborers, saying, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Wherever He went He challenged, uprooted, and changed men. And at length they nailed Him to a cross because He had upset their selfish, secure, self-righteous way of life. Not only was Jesus a missionary, but He pledged His followers to be missionaries, too!

Candlelight supports a variety of Missions around the globe with the vision of being Ambassadors and “Fishers of Men” by showing His love and taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.

Asif Arthur

Asia Missions

Candlelight’s Asia Mission was founded in 2015 in partnership with Dr. Asif Arthur. It currently ministers to Pakistani and Indian Christians spread worldwide, many of whom have fled their homes and are living as refugees in Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia. Once a Pakistani refugee living in Thailand, Pastor Asif is now on staff full-time at Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In addition to arranging weekly online services for Pakistani and Indian Christians, he also works translating the Bible and other church materials from English into Urdu and Punjabi.

Brian & Rachel Rich

New Tribes Mission – Brazil

Brian & Rachel Rich are part of a team of missionaries trying to reach the "Maki" tribal people. It will take years to learn the language, culture, and beliefs of the people, and then present the truth to them by teaching them the Bible in their own language. The Riches desire to see the church reach out to other villages in their language group, teaching God's Word, sharing the gospel and discipling those who believe. In order to have a mature church, the believers need the Bible in their own language, so Bible translation will be one of the long term tasks of the missionary team. They want the church to be run by indigenous leaders so that the work can continue long after the missionaries are gone.

Stephen & Patricia Apple

Calvary Chapel Tel Aviv Israel

The Shepherd’s Light is a non-profit charity that has a goal of reaching Israel with the Good News of Jesus the Messiah and bringing His hope and peace to the Jewish people. They also desire to bring that hope and peace to the people of each community in which a Shepherd’s Light fellowship is planted within the USA.

The Shepherd’s Light was established in 2007 by Stephen and Patricia Apple. Two people who felt God calling them to minister in Israel. They first went in 2004 with little money, leaving their family, friends, and everything familiar to them.

Luis & Vanessa Lopez

New Tribes Mission - Africa

Luis and Vanessa’s heart is set on missions! They pray, teach, equip and mobilize Tanzanian believers (local churches) toward a bigger understanding of God’s redemption plan for humanity. This involves three stages: Rising awareness of Missions, providing training for those who feel called, and coaching the Church leadership to become a sending Church. They travel across Tanzania to help Churches (usually Pastors/Leadership) to plan and implement a vision for Cross-Culture Missions, locally and globally.

Steve & Brenda Hines

Alan Naugle

The Gideons International

Alan Naugle is part of the Gideons International, an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and providing Bibles and New Testaments. While they often are recognized for their work with hotels, they also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them.

Tom & Lori Leger

Tom & Lori Leger work with ROCK International. The non-profit organization began in December of 2006, with a vision to offer children relief, opportunity, and care in the midst of danger, abuse and neglect. From that passion flowed another purpose: to produce and propagate multi-language, captivating, chronological gospel media tools that clearly communicate God’s story and message to a worldwide audience of all ages and cultures.
